Animaniacs Game Pack(TM) We have included this ReadMe file to supply you with up-to-the-minute information about the program. **************************************************************** SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS **************************************************************** --Power Mac or higher --256-color system and minimum 13" monitor (capable of at least 640x480 resolution and 256 colors) --16MB RAM --System 7.1.2 or higher --Double-speed CD-ROM drive or higher --QuickTime 2.5 or better (included) **************************************************************** RUNNING ANIMANIACS GAME PACK **************************************************************** 1. Insert the Animaniacs Game Pack into your CD-ROM drive. 2. Double-click the Animaniacs Game PackCD. 3. Double-click the Animaniacs Game Pack icon in the window which opens. Note: The first time you click on this icon it will launch the Animaniacs Game Pack installer. Once you have played Animaniacs Game Pack this icon will launch the installed version on your hard disk. Note: If you delete or move the installed Animaniacs Game Pack folder the CD will not be able to find your installed program and will launch the installer. To correct this just find the installed version of Animaniacs Game Pack on your hard disk and launch it using the Animaniacs Game Pack icon. You need QuickTime version 2.5 to run the program. If you do not already have it installed, simply double-click on the QuickTime installer icon and follow the on-screen instructions. To quit the program use Command-Q while viewing any menu. **************************************************************** GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING AND COMPATIBILITY ISSUES **************************************************************** TROUBLESHOOTING: To get the best performance from this program, you must do the following, then restart the computer for the changes to take effect: 1. Disable screen savers and virus scanners. 2. Quit all other applications. 3. Turn Virtual Memory ON. 4. If the program is running slowly, use Extensions Manager to turn off all unnecessary Extensions and Control Panels. [Note: If you wish to be certain that all Extensions and Control Panels are enabled again, you may save them as a set in the Extensions Manager. Please refer to your computer's manual for details on using the Extensions Manager.] The following Extensions must be left on: 1. Apple CD-ROM 2. Foreign file access 3. QuickTime 4. QuickTime Musical Instruments 5. QuickTime PowerPlug 6. Sound Manager 7. The extension for your printer The following Control Panels must be left on: 1. Memory 2. Mouse 3. QuickTime settings When you are done using Animaniacs Game Pack, turn the other Extensions and Control Panels back on. Note: For System 7.1.2 you will need to move all other extensions to another folder. Open up the System Folder on your Hard Drive. Make a new folder called 'Extensions Disabled'. Move all unnecessary Extensions to the 'Extensions Disabled' folder. Restart the Computer. When you are done using Animaniacs Game Pack, move the other Extensions back into the Extensions folder and restart the computer. **************************************************************** SPECIFIC TROUBLESHOOTING **************************************************************** PROBLEM: Animaniacs Game Pack does not start when the icon is double-clicked. SOLUTION: Close any unnecessary applications or extensions that may be running. Check to be sure you have at least 16 MB of RAM. PROBLEM: Some animations play back with jerkiness (hesitation, skips in the audio, loss of audio, skips in the animation). SOLUTION: Be sure that you are using at least a double-speed CD-ROM drive. PROBLEM: Animaniacs Game Pack runs, but some animations seem to be missing. SOLUTION: Be sure you have QuickTime extensions in the Extensions folder (refer to the Installation procedure above). PROBLEM: The program runs slowly. SOLUTION: Close any unnecessary applications or extensions that may be running. (See General Troubleshooting section above.) Check to be sure you have at least 16 MB of RAM. Memory: --Make sure that Modern Memory Manager is on in the Memory Control Panel. --Make sure Virtual Memory is ON. PROBLEM: Video (especially color shifting) or sound problems. SOLUTION: Make sure all screen savers are OFF or DISABLED. PROBLEM: The programs in the Previews folder do not run.
